Olivia Bossy had recently renovated a 51m² beachside apartment in Freshwater, Sydney. The aim of this project was to make a small space into making in it look larger by gutting and reconfiguration of the space. With an emphasis on materials and their repetition, tactile dimensions were created and a sense of flow and space prevails. The curved shower and built-in Marrakesh plaster seating were key elements in creating an unusually strong presence and functionality within a tiny footprint. Bossy designed many pieces and some of them were The Roll on Bed and Stump Desk, as is the custom rattan and oak joinery. Finally as Olivia says: “A playful, sometimes awkward aesthetic runs through each piece. They sit in the room as functional installations”
