VR House by Nicolas Schuybroek

Belgian designer Nicolas Schuybroek designed and completed the VR house, a unique residence located in the Netherlands. It uses pure materials to give a simple yet uncomplicated character, expressing a sophisticated atmosphere with a primitive look. The interior walls are combined with glass, opening up multiple viewpoints and incorporating the outdoor landscape into the interior, creating an organic and clever combination.
The essence of Nicolas’s work is to conceive serene and pure, yet extremely warm and authentic spaces. While his architecture is often described as monastic and minimalistic, it is surprisingly sophisticated and it always has a soul. His works explore a sharp vision of space and materials. Most people recognize Nicolas’ hand through his rigorous and contextual approach: embracing the essence of built forms, from the roughest construction to the smallest interior details.
