Phoebe Nicol collaborated closely with the clients to create their dream home the Kings Road Residential, originally designed in 1925 by Bruce Delit. An A-frame extension was added in 2001 by Alan Dukes Architect. Their project encompassed a comprehensive interior renovation, including furniture and furnishings, while preserving the house’s external shell. The home features distinctive art deco elements, such as the original stairwell and cornices.
To honor this architectural style, Phoebe incorporated new design features like a fireplace, skirting boards, cornices, architraves, and door hardware that echo the era. For the interior decor, they sourced all antiques from France, integrating both art deco and mid-century pieces. Notable items include a 1940s Charles Dudouyt-style desk, a Guillerme and Chambron bar, and 1940s sheepskin armchairs, along with a 1940s oak daybed inspired by Rene Gabriel. This thoughtful selection of furnishings complements the home’s historical character while creating a cohesive and elegant living space.
