Darling Point Apartment by Phoebe Nicol

Sydney-based Interior Architect Phoebe Nicol designed the beautiful Darling Point Apartment. They stripped back this apartment’s foundations to create a light-filled open-plan living home. The result is a beautiful synchronization of refined contemporary design and the use of raw materiality. Reconfiguring the existing layout to accommodate the client’s lifestyle we looked to introduce a balance of warm and cool materials throughout the apartment. The internal timber doors span from floor to ceiling.
The frameless door jambs ensure the plasterboard blends seamlessly with the wall and provide a flush finish, eliminating the need for architraves – A focus on crisp clean lines. They are beautifully crafted by our carpenter to fit seamlessly into each opening. The entire apartment is finished in a fine Marmorino. It gives the walls beautiful refraction of light and texture. A blackened stainless steel kitchen with dark granite benchtops creates a luxurious impact on the eye. Tactility and functionality were imperative when designing this home.
