Design firm Mainstudio reimagined a quintessential duplex in Montreal, Canada, the Waverly Residence. The residence is minimal in design, yet strong in form and function. Robert Lavoie, founder of the firm, echoed arched doorways throughout this 980-square-foot modern apartment. Expansive windows and abundant fenestration maximize natural light but also offer geometric simplicity.
Lavoie combined walls washed in white with warm pinewood and terracotta flooring to capture an overwhelming sense of calm and airiness. The highlight, is a minimalist kitchen with an effortless backyard connection, for the homeowner, truly blurring between indoor and outdoor living.
