House S Keerbergen is a beautiful cabin in the woods by Belgian architect Hans Verstuyft Architecten. They wanted to find how the apartment would co-exist with the  surrounding natural environment. The façade was covered with blackened wood planks, a Japanese technique to protect the planks against rot and insects.
By choosing the façade, the design team intended to fade the transition between inside and outside and intensify the experience of living in nature. The inside is with black wood covering some areas is contrasting again the concrete and white walls and the whole house is in a sober palette. Finally, the piecce that outstands in the whole house is the sculptural basin at the centre of the bathroom.
