Henri-Martin II marks Parisian design studio Atelier MKD’s second project along the highly sought-after inner-city avenue, located only a short distance from the Eiffel Tower. The brief for the project was simple: to create a modern yet functional interior that drew on the apartment’s locale and Art Deco origins. The interiors possess hallmarks of quintessential Parisian apartments: lofty ceilings, chevron floors, and windows that graciously open onto balconies.
The palette is characterized by neutral fabrics, warm woods, and light stones, creating a soft and intimate atmosphere within the apartment. The curves throughout the project echo this softness, as exemplified by the curved stucco walls that subtly divide the living and dining spaces. As well as drawing on the apartment’s location, Atelier MKD drew on its Art Deco origins, with many details, particularly those featured in the joinery, being a deliberate nod to the iconic style.
