Moscow based design studio FAS(t), created this beautiful apartment in Paris, in the heart of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés quarter. The apartment consists of a spacious courtyard and private garden occupying the basement and ground floors in an old stone building from the 16th century. Architectural studio FAS(t) was founded in Moscow by Alexander Ryabskiy and Ksenia Kharitonova in 2011. The body of studio’s work includes private houses, interiors, residential complexes, public buildings, development of urban planning concepts, exhibition design, participation in Russian and international architectural competitions.
The practice has won various professional international competitions, was honored by numerous awards and mentioned in many publications. One of the milestones for the studio was the competition project for reconstruction of Ca’Tron, located in Venice on the Grand Canal which was recognized as the winner among 600 participants from 28 countries. In FAS(t) they believe that special attitude to architecture, as an important part of global artistic culture, and its understanding, as a reflection and embodiment of subjective perception, which is based on tactile memory and personal experience of experiencing various spaces, form the character, mood and atmosphere of each project. The studio’s work is characterized by rigorous attention to proportional construction of the structure, shape, scale and aesthetic.
