Through the lens of Frederik Vercruysse

Frederik Vercruysse is an architectural photographer with a very successful career. He love straight lines, shadow and light and what they can do to an image. His work evolved in his new house to Antwerp, where he worked out his architectural style with straight lines, shadow and light, soft colors that merged in their complementarily.
Micro-architecture that tended towards painting people sometimes called them miniature paintings, taking that as a compliment. He work in a really controlled way, weighing and balancing until his image finds its equilibrium. In his head as well as in his images stillness is important for working efficiently. That perfect balance between stillness and noise, that’s what he is after. As Frederik says: “Inspiration is beauty for me. If there’s beauty, then you can also provide some beauty in your image.”
The pictures below are for the ” US Financial Newspaper” and it was an article on Graanmarkt 13 founders Tim Van Geloven & Ise Cornelissens. At home, the couple practice what they preach: beauty can be sustainable and low-key.
