Belgian interior designer Ville Design merges two inner-city apartments in Oudenaarde, East Flanders, the Residence SVP, in collaboration with art curator and client Angelique Segaert. Calling for a design that would stand the test of time, Ville Design principal Thais Niville worked closely with Angelique Segaert – both client and owner of a Belgian art and furniture agency – on the 250sqm home over two years.
Through calming tones and textures, Residence SVP serves as a tranquil home easing Angelique into inner-city living. With timelessness at the heart of every design decision, robust organic materials were specified throughout the home. Gold-veined natural stone by Belgian supplier Hullebusch imbues luxury in the kitchen and bathrooms, finished with brass Vola tapware.
Tadelakt – a traditional Moroccan plastering technique composed of lime plaster and black soap derived from olives – covers the walls and bathroom floors, as well as the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. The Line dining table designed by Belgian interior designer Nathalie Deboel takes center stage in the dining room, paired with vintage dining chairs and the Miyazaki bar stools tucked under the stone island.
The living room also features an eclectic mix of vintage and new pieces, like the Capitol Complex Chair and Edra Standard Sofa. Artwork and decor from Angelique Segaert’s retail space create a sense of personalisation within the home. Ville Design’s sensitive intervention in Residence SVP ensures a gentle ease into city living.
