The renovation project involved the recovery of a portion of a seventeenth-century building overlooking the main square of Patu, a small town in the south of Salento.
The structure, about 150 square meters, was abandoned for some years and in a poor state of conservation.
The rooms, more than 5 meters high and over 25 square meters each, are all characterized by the typical “star” vaults in tufa stone, while the floors of two of these were in decorated cementine dating back to the beginning of the last century.
The walls have been plastered and painted with lime, while the vaults have been treated with a whitewash to make them brighter.
