Morton Street is a minimal apartment located in New York, New York, designed by Westbourne Studio. Upon entering, a meticulously crafted floating console made of bird’s-eye maple immediately creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. This console is adorned with a ceramic piece by Barry Canter and rustic wooden bowls, blending traditional and contemporary elements seamlessly.
Above it, a Clement Pascal photograph hangs, and a Charlotte Perriand stool tastefully anchors the arrangement. The space follows a color palette of oak, brass, and black, skillfully integrated with a mid-century walnut console designed to house the couple’s vinyl collection. Twin pendants, meticulously crafted from blackened brass and walnut by Allied Maker, mirror the unique aesthetic of the kitchen. Speaking of the kitchen, it’s a masterpiece executed by Poliform with metalwork by Amuneal.
It features a central island adorned with a stone slab and brass inlay detailing. Completing the inviting atmosphere are counter stools from Summer Studio Design. The open-plan design of the dwelling encourages interaction between the dining area, kitchen, and living room. Comfort is a top priority, evident in the inclusion of an Adrian Pearsal vintage sofa, an Eisler and Hauner lounge chair, and a stone coffee table designed by Axel Vervoordt. Custom oak shelves, seamlessly recessed into the wall, proudly display a collection of books and ceramics by Brent Friberg and Gunnar Nyland, adding a personal touch to the space.
