Hâbitat All Suite Hotel’s philosophy by GNB Architects is based on the concept of well-being, natural materials, and colors and in a holistic approach of temporary habitation that is characterized by originality, inspiration, spirituality, and luxury all in harmony with nature. The biggest challenge the team had to face while developing this project of a 5* modern hotel unit was dealing with the plot’s shape and geomorphology.
On the outskirts of Agios Stefanos settlement in Mykonos, two distinct plot areas connect through a long and narrow piece of land. Being exactly on the boundaries of the settlement, their study had to face these restrictions and turn them into challenging guidelines of the design. The entrance to the hotel complex is located on the west side of the plot, connecting the local road to the parking area of the hotel. In the center of the plot, the reception and retailing areas are located, leading through a narrow longitudinal building volume to the core of the complex.
On the first floor of this building, there are 3 rooms with correspondent private outdoor areas and jacuzzis, while on the basement auxiliary areas are found. Through this long path, the tenants reach the dense part of the hotel. The public pool with its outdoor lounge areas is located in the core of it, surrounded by the restaurant and pool bar areas.
On each side of this public zone, two building zones host a total of 10 standard rooms and 3 suites with private pools. In addition, on their basement levels, all public functions are hosted, including a salon de beaute, a spa, a sauna, a massage room, a gym, and their locker rooms, as well as laundry and storage rooms and electromechanical installations spaces, which make the complex a self-sufficient hotel unit.
