The designer Claes Dalen, in collaboration with the company Planoform, designed the apartment L8, which is located in the central Stockholm district of Östermalm. The interior is restrained yet elegant in a simple palette of beige, white and wood. Claes chose to replace the apartment’s existing mixed flooring with an oak chevron pattern pairing them with warm white walls and ceilings, making the space feels serene and light.
The kitchen island, workbench and splashback is clad in a Tunisian limestone, injecting further warmth and texture. He, also, designed the long dining table in a beautiful walnut finish and a custom-made cabinet in the same wood with textural rattan doors. Finally, very beautiful is how the clean lines in the bedroom and ensuite are softened by rounded forms and the velvet rug and sheer curtains tie in with the living room textiles, providing a beautiful sense of cohesion throughout.
