Silent Living is a family business that it was created in order to provide a home away from home. All of their houses started as their family’s homes, and they’re now open to whoever wants to experience them. They are part of their story and echo the importance of feeling at home. Along the way, they realized that they are not alone in the search for happiness and fulfillment, and thus it felt right to share their values and visions with everyone else – one house at a time.
They named this search & sharing process Silent Living, and it has been the most amazing adventure of their lives, so far. Portuguese culture is strongly reflected in housing archetypes. To honor the memory of Portuguese architectural history, they immortalize it: each one of their houses tells a story from their culture, from their ancestors. By reinventing styles, details and ways of living, they connect past, present and future. Moreover, they try to comfort the soul by stimulating their senses – and their  happy memories – with a familiar taste, smell or sound.
The identity of a place and its own architectural language relies on a specific set of materials and application techniques. To ensure the connection between the houses and their surroundings, and to keep the story of each house alive, they keep their buildings faithful to the local language, by continuously searching for materials and shapes capable of connecting the building to the place where it belongs. Their beautiful houses except from the Santa Clara 1728 are the Casas Na Areia, the Cabanas No Rio and the Casa No Tempo.
