Summer House is set in the seaside village of Comporta, Portugal.
The designer Cristina Jorge de Carvalho is a great example of how the architecture merges with the environment in perfect harmony.
The project of approximately 3000 m2 includes three cabins, a swimming pool and an outdoor lounge.
The surrounding color palette of the landscape was the inspiration for the selection of the materials.
Also, one of the important elements is the traditional roof made from straw and sugar, materials which are widely used in these types of constructions.
To sum up, the project maintains the rustic characteristics of Comporta without neglecting the modern and contemporary characteristics of her approach as an interior designer.
