Australia based interior design studio, Koolasuchus, designed Aurora, a concept house to achieve the timelessness of design. The studio is inspired and directed by object design, meaning that a specific piece of furniture, lighting, sculpture or artwork can be the ‘lightbulb moment’ that initiates their work. They started with the Achilles Chair by Pool Studio, and from there continued to build in elements that they felt were in harmony with each other. This was underpinned by the client brief for a space that embodies a calm and understated luxury. In Aurora they used the idea of each element being a statement piece, where this statement later subdued by a minimalist tonal palette for a more relaxed atmosphere.
