Linnegatan Apartment by Liljencrantz Design Studio

Swedish designer and interior decorator Louise Liljencrantz completely renovated this two-floor, five-bedroom apartment, Linnegatan Apartment, with a 360-degree terrace view of the Stockholm skyline. While the building is from 1905, the original windows were unfortunately changed at some point, decreasing the character and charm. The apartment was also in dismal shape and not renovated adequately by the previous owners, so Louise and her team had to begin from scratch.
Fortunately, this gave them the opportunity to create the perfect floor plan for their clients, a family of three. At the client’s request, they made three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and dressing room, as well as a communal kitchen and dining room area including a lounge area that connects with the hall and main entrance. On the top floor, they created a living room that leads out to the terrace with an outdoor kitchen. For this apartment, a voluptuous color scheme is the center of attention.
Mahogany, being warm and rich, was chosen downstairs, almost rooting the space with the solid presence of the wood. From there, colors, fabrics, and materials evolved – a mix and match of the warmth of the wood against colder shades of greyish blue as well as hard lines intervening with curved ones.
